Michael was born December 18, 1948 in Austin Texas to Richard T. and Jean Jacobs Churchill.
Michael grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, graduating from Pascal High School. He graduated Magna Cum Lade from University of Texas at Austin. Afterwards he graduated from TCU with his Master’s in business.
He was a CPA with Arthur Anderson early in his business career. Michael spent his years from 1984-2000 in the banking industry merging 284 banks in the state of Texas. Afterwards he spent his career in various business industries as CFO or CEO of the companies. Currently he works for MedReps in Southlake, Texas as an officer and CEO of the company.
Michael grew up in Fort Worth and was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church & Trinity Episcopal Church until going off to college. He was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano for 20 years, and at Gateway Church in Southlake for several years. For the past 6 years he has been a member of First Baptist Church in Dallas and a member of the choir singing as a tenor. Michael has conducted a Bible study with the men’s group from Prestonwood every Friday morning at 8 a.m. for the past several years and has performed these on zoom with the group since 2020.
Michael was an avid golfer and belonged to Timarron Country Club in Southlake where he was a member of the MGA. He and his wife, Nancy, enjoyed playing golf all over the world, which they did every chance they got. He loved the arts and supported the Dallas Museum of Art, The Kimball, the Fort Worth Symphony and Dallas Symphony, and the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Most of all, Michael loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and was a devout Christian and leader in worship.
Michael is survived by his wife, Nancy Dennis, 5 children; Sean Churchill, Stephanie Churchill, Christopher Churchill, Ashley Lewelling, and Melinda McKinley, 5 grandchildren; Hannah, Sophie, Emma, Cora & Caitlyn. He is also survived by his younger siblings; 3 sisters and 2 brothers; Sandra Lawhon, Mary Warren, Laura Flaherty, Richard Churchill & Stephen Churchill.
Services will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at First Baptist Church Dallas in Truett Chapel with visitation at 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral service at noon. There will be a Celebration of Life with lunch in the Truett Chapel afterwards and this will conclude services.
