

Michael James Hogan was born at Utica, NY to his parents James and Vera Hogan who moved to Texas when Michael was a young boy and resided in Fort Worth and Eastland, Texas. Mike attained the rank of Eagle scout in his youth. Mike graduated from Laneri Catholic High School and afterwards attended the University of Texas in Arlington for two years earning an Associates Degree in business. Michael then entered service with the United States Army while serving as an enlisted member for four years. Michael during his service was stationed in Athens, Greece and was assigned important duties concerning intelligence gathering in the early 1960’s during the Kennedy administration. After being honorably discharged from the Army Michael began a forty-year career as Bell Helicopter-Textron where he retired in 2001 as a purchasing director.
Michael was actively involved with the catholic church and was a fourth-degree knight with the Knights of Columbus serving as a faithful navigator. Michael did much volunteer work in assisting families in need of assistance during his church service and helped organize food drives for those in need.
Michael was married to Wilma-Jo Hogan for thirty-three years who survives him. Both Michael and Jo resided together at their beautiful home in North Richland Hills where Michael was an avid gardener and pet lover. Michael and Jo liked to travel, and Michael loved his football and the Texas Longhorns.
Michael is survived by his wife Jo; brother Pat Hogan and sister in law Donna of Eastland Texas; sons Kevin and Brian Hogan; stepson of thirty-three years, John Shergold, Jessica; and grandchildren Kathryn and Carolyn whom all adored him.
He was Predeceased by his step-son Richard R. Shergold.
Michael asks that any donations be made to the animal human society in his honor.
