Nancy Lou Parsons Whitaker

Nancy Lou Whitaker loving mother, grandmother and sister passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 surrounded by her family. Nancy was born in Weatherford, Texas on May 17, 1940. Nancy spent her early life in Weatherford moving to Hurst in 1954. Nancy was a majorette in the first graduating class of L.D. Bell High School in 1959. Nancy was widowed in 1976 raising three daughters Mindy Kay Whitaker, Lori Ann Whitaker and Linda Dyan Whitaker. Nancy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Hurst. After retiring from Lewis Henderson Insurance Agency, Nancy dedicated her life to her grandchildren Courtney, Dylan, Nathan and her honorary grandchildren Jaclyn and Shannon Martin. She was preceded in death by her Grandmother Sallie Mae Kele, her Parents Alfred M. Parsons, Mildred L. Lamke and Edward Lamke and husband Charles W. Whitaker and her daughter Mindy Kay Whitaker. Nancy is survived by her daughters Lori Ann Henry and Husband Gary and Linda Dyan Kounse, and sister LeAnne Adams and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will commence at 10 a.m. Friday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Mrs. Whitaker will be laid to rest in the Garden of Faith at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Friends are invited to gather for a time of sharing memories and to visit with the family from 6 to 8p.m. in the Cherry Drawing Room at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
