Nelda Jordan Miles
October 21, 2019
Nelda Jordan Miles went home to be with the lord on Wednesday October 16th 2019 of her 90th year. She was a beloved mother of 5, a grandmother of 9, a great grandmother of 11, & a great great grandmother of 4. Nelda loved children, anytime anyone was introduced to her she always said “Just call me Grandma.”
Nelda came into the world Nelda Herlene Bible on Dec. 3rd 1928. She was the 4th and final child of Herbert & Bonnie Bible. Stories of her youth generally included picking up apples to get a penny to go and buy 5 Hersey’s kisses(which she ate till her passing). Or, how her and her siblings all slept in the same bed. Her childhood wasn’t easy but, she did her very best to make sure her family’s children had a great one.
Neldas only job was babysitting children. She babysat 8 children under the age of 2 from her home to make ends meet. She made such an impression on the families that they would call or come by from time to time just to say hi.
Nelda lived a full life. Even though it had it’s many challenges, she always persevered. She was always thinking of others. She would go without so other could have. She was always concerned about family having what they needed to get by. However, if she ever got upset with you, she wouldn’t argue or tell you how it was. She would simply take her time and write you a lengthy letter telling you all the reasons she was upset with you. If you ever received a letter, you knew you were in the doghouse. But, once she said her peace she was through(in most cases).
Nelda was taken unexpectedly and her family misses her dearly. But, they know she’s in a better place and no longer in pain. Today there is a void that can never be replaced in the family. But, Nelda touched many hearts throughout her life and those hearts will always love her.

Grandma, I talked to you every day my entire life. And while I’m glad you’re not in pain anymore and you’re with mom, the selfish part of me does miss you a lot. I love you so very much.
