Nora Foster

Ermmelinda “Nora” Foster, age 66, passed away on September 1, 2026 in Bedford, Texas. She was born on July 4, 1960 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Felipe and Aurora Avalos.

Nora enjoyed traveling the world, taking full advantage of her flight privileges after having retired from American Airlines over 15 years ago. Each weekend was another opportunity to go somewhere…anywhere! Crocheting & beading, enthusiastic TV-watching (L&O SVU, Murder She Wrote, Perry Mason, all crime dramas) and reading (Stephen King, James Patterson, Lee Child) were favorite hobbies of hers. And of course, she loved her casino gambling.

Being the loving person that she was, Nora’s family was all-important to her, both her immediate family and those friends she met that became "family." She was notorious for thinking about others before thinking about herself.

Nora was always laughing and smiling; always so happy. To her, with life being such a wonderful gift, how could one not be happy? It was rare to ever see her not smiling.

Maybe the best and most annoying trait about Nora was her ability to see the silver lining in all things. No matter the challenge, no matter how difficult the hardship, Nora was the eternal optimist. She saw the good in all things and all people. She was the best, she will be missed and she was loved by all.

Nora is preceded in death by her mother Aurora Tellez Avalos, father Felipe Miranda Avalos, bother Francisco Gabriel Avalos, niece Annalise Avalos, brother-in-law Lawrence Arrey, half-sister Helen Gomez, half-brother Richard Avalos, and niece Belinda Hernandez.

Nora is survived by her husband Steven “Boye” Foster; children Ricardo D Reyes III, Christopher Joseph "CJ" (Elizabeth Anne) Reyes, and Kenneth Cory "KC" Reyes; grandchildren Ricardo Nicholas Reyes IV, Angelo Edward Rosas, Jacob Patrick Reyes, and Aunaleya Jade Reyes; siblings David (Bobbie) Avalos, Samuel (Socorro) Avalos, Gloria Ann Hernandez, Alicia Avalos, George Vicente Avalos, and Juan Isidro (Geraldine) Avalos.

Visitation is Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life is Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 10:00 am, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
