Norma Jean Gredell, born on October 20, 1942, in Illinois, entered her heavenly home on June 26, 2026.
Norma lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service. A devoted Christian, she faithfully served the Lord throughout her life and found great joy participating in mission projects through her church. Her family finds great comfort in knowing that she is now joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Harold Gredell, who preceded her in death in 2008 after 48 wonderful years of marriage. Together again in the presence of the Lord, they are forever united.
Professionally, Norma spent most of her career working in banking as a mortgage processor, where her dedication, kindness, and strong work ethic earned the respect of those who knew her.
Above all, Norma treasured her family. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jennifer Gabriel and son-in-law, Ron Gabriel; their sons, Ryan Gabriel and his wife, Vanessa, Josh Gabriel and his wife, Caroline, and Andrew Gabriel. She is also survived by her son, Doug Gredell, and his sons, Garrett Gredell, Matthew Gredell, and Nick Gredell.
She is also survived by her brother, Lee Waddell and his wife, Susie; their daughter, Mackinlee; and their son, Rusty, and his wife, Catherine. Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Gredell, one brother, and one sister.
Nothing brought Norma greater happiness than spending time with her six grandsons. Whether she was teaching them how to cook, cheering them on from the stands at their sporting events, or simply enjoying time together, they were the pride and joy of her life.
Norma had a smile that could light up any room. She was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, quick wit, and willingness to help anyone in need. She loved to cook and delighted in sharing meals with those she loved. To know Norma was to be welcomed with a warm smile, a home-cooked meal, and a heart always ready to help. Her warmth made everyone feel at home, and her faith was evident in the way she lived each day.
Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. They find peace in knowing that Norma is once again by Harold’s side, reunited in heaven, and that her legacy of faith, love, compassion, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Milestone Church in Keller. Family and friends are invited to gather as they celebrate Norma’s life, her unwavering faith, and the love she shared so generously with everyone she met.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
