

Pansy Olevia McClendon was called to her heavenly home on Friday, April 29, 2016. She was 82 years of age. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Brown Trail Church of Christ School of Preaching. Pansy was born in 1934 in Pittsburg County, Okla. The youngest of 12 children, she married Leroy McClendon, the love of her life, in 1951 and moved to Texas. In 1958 Leroy and Pansy founded McClendon Nursery in Colleyville. They both retired after 40 years in business. Pansy loved the Lord, family and the beauty of plants and flowers. She was added to the Lord's Church in 1945 and was a member of Brown Trail Church of Christ. Pansy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leroy McClendon; her parents; and all 11 siblings. Survivors: She leaves behind her son, Ronnie McClendon and wife, Charlotte, of Perrin; daughter, Renee Sutton, and husband, Mike, of Alvord; grandchildren, Chad McClendon and wife, Lindsay, of Grapevine, Summer Vincent and husband, Charlie, of Boston, Mass., Haylie Anderson and husband, Sam, of Keller, Amy McClendon of Roanoke, Hannah Calhoun and husband, Neal, of Keller, Hassie Grgurich and husband, Marcus, of Decatur; great-grandchildren, Calem, Aven, Eva, Cheyanne, Gracie, Colt, Sammie, Stella, Sutton; and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
