Patrick D McKinney

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Patrick "Pat" McKinney, who departed this life on November 2nd 2025, at the age of 64. Pat McKinney was a cherished husband, father, and friend and will be remembered for his kindness and unwavering love for family and friends.

Born on December 30th, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, Pat grew up with a zest for life and a passion for auto mechanics and worked for his favorite boss, Rosie Dunn at Dennis Road Automotive. He touched the lives of so many with his generosity and gentle spirit. Pat is survived by his loving wife Sally McKinney, sweet daughter Carrie Haire and her husband Bryan Haire, brother Timothy McKinney and his wife Michelle McKinney, mother Kathleen Schmeltekopf and foster siblings, Susan O'Brien and James Barrett. He adored his two grandchildren, William Haire and Cora Haire. He is preceded in death by his son Christopher Chad McKinney, father Charles Schmeltekopf, his half-sister Shannon Farschon, his Aunt Pat DeLapp (whom he was named after) and his grandmother Carrie DeLapp, who was very special to him. He also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and friends. Pat leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and laughter.

Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life lived to the fullest at either the following services:

Visitation: November 12th, 5-7 p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville, TX 76034.

Funeral Mass: November 13th, 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Nazareth Church 2323 Cheyenne St. Irving, TX 75062. Reception to follow.

Pat will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but the memories and love shared will live on in our hearts forever. We love you to the moon and back, to the stars and back, forever and always.
