

Ray was born on September 21, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to Ralph Hoover and Mildred Starks. He graduated from Pittsburgh State University with a degree in Education. After moving to Bedford in 1979, Ray later worked for Atmos Energy as a Risk Manager for much of his career.
He will always be remembered as a caring father and faithful friend to all who loved him. He was an avid outdoorsman, whether fishing with his sons, riding his Harley across the country, golfing, or boating.
Ray is survived by his mother, Mildred Starks of Clinton, Michigan; his son Chris Hoover and wife Jenifer of Little Elm; son Kyle Hoover and wife Christine of Charlottesville, VA; step-son Taylor Jacob and wife Mallory of Denver; grandsons Will, Reese, Kyle, and Luke Hoover; brother Warren Starks and wife Linda of Clinton, Michigan; brother Frank Starks of Clinton, Michigan; brother David of Tecumseh, Michigan; and brother Don of Joplin, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Oliver Hoover; his brother Richard, and his sister Mary.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10 am on Saturday, August 31 2019 at Foust & Son Funeral Home 523 S. Main St.; Grapevine, TX, with a reception to follow.
