Rex Elton Clark of Fort Worth, TX passed away on October 9, 2020 in Fort Worth, TX.

He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was born on August 13, 1953 in Bremerton, Washington to Vonda and Ronnie Clark.

Rex attended Caprock High School in Amarillo, TX and earned an Associate Degree in Commercial Art from Texas State Technical Institute in Amarillo, Tx. He also earned a third-degree black belt in Aikido and a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He loved his jobs at Harris County and Home Depot and had many friends from both places. He could fix anything involving plumbing, electrical or carpentry and was a tireless worker. He loved nature and enjoyed gardening, hiking and camping. He also made his own custom computer with a little assistance from Jerrod. He loved shooting at the range with Jerrod, Ronnie and Valerie. He loved traveling, especially cruises.

Rex built a log home on land outside of Canyon. TX and did a great deal of the work by himself. He also had horses on the land and sometimes he would pick Jerrod up after school on horseback. His many nieces and nephews remember him as a “cool” uncle who took them horseback riding, go kart riding, bike riding in the neighborhood, to movies and teaching them how to tie shoelaces. He also thought that one of his nieces was texting so much that she was in danger of “carpal thumbel.”

He had a gruff exterior but a kind heart. He was first in line to help anyone with no thought of getting the credit for it. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Rex is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandy Clark of Fort Worth, TX, his son Jerrod Clark of Fort Worth, TX, his father, Ronnie Clark of Amarillo, TX, his sister Valerie Locke of Amarillo, TX. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Sherry Willis of Fort Worth, TX, Carol Fertig of Fort Worth, TX, Marsha Clark of Amarillo, TX, Julie Teague of Arlington, TX and brothers-in-law John Fertig of Fort Worth, TX and Delwood Locke of Amarillo, Tx. He is also survived by three generation of loving nieces and nephews. Rex was preceded in death by his mother, Vonda Clark and his brother, Cliff Clark.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Due to very limited space and Covid-19 precautions, the family requests that you join them virtually through the livestream on Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Facebook page.

I will miss Rex every Sunday morning when I walk past the church pew where he always sat. I would walk up and tap his shoulder then we would shake hands and say "Good morning." Just one of those simple memories that will stay with me and bring a smile.

This incredibly kind man was my next door neighbor. He helped me out of a real bind with my home. My main water line coming into the house broke. I am disabled, widowed and raising two girls...I was without the resources to fix the water line. He recruited Home Depot to provide materials and Jerrod to assist with labor and repaired my waterline 100% along with an extra box and cutoff near the house. I could not be more grateful! He never knew that I decided not to sell my house and stay in my home because with
he and Sandy next door...I felt safe...
Thank you Rex, Sandy and Jerrod
If there's anything I can do, I'm right next door...
