Richard Robert "Poppy" Bradford transitioned from this journey and home to heaven , to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 16, 2021 in his home of 46 years, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 11, 1936 in New Castle, PA to Clifford and Zella (Myers) Bradford and his two siblings, Dolores (Dee) and William “Bill”. A graduate of New Castle High School, studied at Youngstown University, and veteran of the U. S. Navy as a Navy Corpsman and the U.S. Marines.

From youth to adulthood, he became a gifted pianist, harpist and organist and served as choir director at the First Christian Church of Ellwood City, where he met his wife Patricia. They were married at the church in 1958 and celebrated their 62nd anniversary on December 26, 2020.

Brad spent the last 20+ years working for Tri-Tex Enterprises, Inc. as a Sales & Marketing Manager working with the interior design and hospitality industry.

His granddaughter named him "Poppy" and that became his name to extended family. His family was his whole world and everyone he met was treated like family.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter Deidre Johns Bradford and spouse Kim Caster of Corinth, TX; His greatest joy was his grandchildren: Chandler Brooke Bradford-Blaisdell, and Cole Robert Bradford of Corinth, Texas. His brother William (Bill) and wife Marieann of Mars, PA.

He was preceded in death by sister, Dolores (Russell) Brown of New Castle, PA. , great nephew Colton Brown of Tidoute, PA and numerous extended family and beloved friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of his grandson Cole, Patriot Paws, or a charity of your choice.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the family home at a later date.
