

Richard was born on June 16, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of George and Lillian Grant.
Richard attended University School in Cleveland, Ohio and Santa Monica High School in Santa Monica, California. Richard was a varsity letterman in high school and college.
Richard attended Santa Monica City College in Santa Monica, California and graduated in 1955 from the University of Southern California. Richard was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity at USC. And worked as a lifeguard in Santa Monica at beach stand No. 1.
Richard exchanged wedding vows with Jo Anne Venners . They were happily married for 47 years.
Richard worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Richard was blessed with six children, Deborah, Mari, Damon, Teri, Holly, and Scott. Another blessing for Richard was the gift of twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Tiffany, Courtney, Micah, Natalie, Nikki, Michael, Melodie, Alexander, Kayla, Connor, Gabriella, Gwen, Eve, Logan, Kendall, Alexander, and Wyatt.
Richard was a loving man who was dedicated to his wife and family. They raised their six children in Grapevine.
Fortunately, Richard enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Richard worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. Richard retired as a senior vice president after 35 years in the electronics industry with Hamilton Avnet.
Richard played football, baseball, water polo and golf. He was a scratch golfer and avid skier and continued his love for sports throughout his life.
Richard enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. They traveled the world, and recently returned from their 37th trip to Cancun.
Richard passed away on November 27, 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnne Venners Grant, of 47 years; children, Deborah Tapp Fuqua, Mari Grant Jacobson, Damon Kermit Paramore, Teri Grant Jurecka, Holly Grant Schreiber and Scott Richard Grant; grandchildren, Jennifer Gugel, Tiffany Bentley, Courtney Kniatt, Micah Tapp, Natalie Paramore, Nikki Woodward, Michael Jacobson, Melodie Paramore, Alexander Jacobson, Kayla Schreiber, Connor Jacobson and Gabriella Grant; great-grandchildren, Gwen Gugel, Eve Gugel, Logan Kniatt, Kendall Tapp- Gazzaway, Alexander Bentley and Wyatt Woodward. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas.
Richard was an individual who will be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Richard leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Richard will be missed for his loving spirit, beautiful smile, positive outlook and his "can do" attitude, and zest for life.
