

Robert Hunter Workman was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Robert will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Gladys and Emory Workman. Robert grew up in Germantown, Ohio with his brothers, sisters, cousins and Ook, Gook and Gern.
Robert was raised with three brothers, Denny, Gary, Emory and one sister, Sharon. Robert was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Robert had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Valley View High School in 1980. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.
Empathic and loyal, Robert was committed to making his new family happy.
Robert worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Robert was blessed with three daughers, Heather, Aubri, Victoria and two sons, Justin and Brandon.
Robert was an United States Navy veteran. He served his country for 6 years as an EW1 on the USS Joseph Strauss (DDG 16) stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Robert enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Rob loved the outdoors, he most enjoyed pool days with his wife and family, hunting, fishing, cruising his Harley, smearing birthday cake on faces, Christmas-time slumber parties, passing down family cooking traditions, and just being surrounded by his family at every opportunity. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Robert was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. His family was rounded out by his three beloved fur babies Scooter, Buster, and Bitsy.
Robert passed away on June 7, 2016 at his residence in North Richland Hills, texas. He is survived by Rob is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Workman, parents Billy and Leonora Byrd, 5 children, Heather Dalton Wagoner, Aubri Nichol "DLG" Workman, Justin Hunter "Buddha Boy" Workman, Brandon "Buckshot" Renteria, and Victoria "PNA" Renteria, brothers Denny Waters, Gary Waters, and Emory Workman, sister Sharon Helton, countless friends and family that love him dearly, and his three beloved fur babies Scooter, Buster and Bitsy. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Robert was cremated.
Rob, Babe, Daddy, Robbie was a remarkable man fiercely and dearly loved by all who knew him. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Robert Hunter Workman.

Rob was born in Hagerstown, Maryland to Gladys and Emory Workman December 27, 1961. He grew up in Germantown, Ohio with his brothers, sisters, cousins and Ook, Gook and Gern then graduated Valley View High School in 1980. He "finally" made it to Texas in 1987 where he became a born-again Texan. Rob loved the outdoors, he most enjoyed pool days with his wife and family, hunting, fishing, cruising his Harley, smearing birthday cake on faces, Christmas-time slumber parties, passing down family cooking traditions, and just being surrounded by his family at every opportunity. Rob, Babe, Daddy, Robbie was a remarkable man fiercely and dearly loved by all who knew him.
