Roger was born on July 1st, 1943 in Summers County, West Virginia to Clarence and Lucille Meadows. He was the fourth and youngest boy of seven children. Enlisting in the Army at the young age of 18, he served his country with pride. Shortly after joining the Army, Roger met his beloved Texas girl and he married her just six months later, in 1962. After his time in the Army, he went on to complete his schooling in Tarrant County, where he worked in several shops as a machinist and received training as a mechanical engineer; a title he went on to work under for much of his adult life. In his retirement, alongside his wife, he enjoyed working on their fourteen acres in Bridgeport, TX where they settled down all those years ago. Tending to cattle, horses, chickens, and most importantly their well known and ever growing garden.
Roger was an avid hunter and thoroughly enjoyed spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, and tinkering with anything he could find; especially guitars. Roger took great pride in the family and life that he and his wife Nancy built together, and he will be immensely missed by all those who loved and cherished him.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Meadows and Lucille (Grimitt) Meadows; son, Terry Meadows; sisters, Greta (Meadows) January, Alice (Meadows) Allen and husband Dan, Alma “Candy” (Meadows) Boyko; brothers, George Meadows and wife Helen, Clarence Meadows, and Ray Meadows.
