Rose was born in Akron Ohio on August 29, 1930, to the late Emil and Cecilia Roth.
After moving to Ft. Worth Texas, Rosie graduated high school from Our Lady of Victory Academy in 1947, and she was also crowned Ft. Worth’s Mardi Gras Queen in 1950. Rosie graduated from Texas Christian University in 1951.
Through high school and college, Rosie worked at the Ft. Worth Press newspaper alongside her father. Rosie was married to Don Fischer of St. Louis, Mo in 1951 at St. Mary’s Church in Ft. Worth Texas, for a loving 62 years of marriage. Rosie and Don moved to St. Louis, Mo in 1956 and returned to Colleyville Texas in 2007. Rosie was a beloved member of the community volunteering for The Colleyville Lions Club, Colleyville Police Academy Retirees, Colleyville Fire Department Academy, Colleyville Library Club, Chelsea Park HOA, and a member of the Senior Center Bridge Club.
Rosie is survived by Daughters Donna East, Carolyn Sierra, and Terry Kubitza of Colleyville TX. Sons Gregory Fischer of Newport Beach, CA, and Don Fischer of Highland Village, TX. 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Rosie was the Matriarch of the Fischer In-laws, known commonly to family and friends as the “Fischer Outlaws”.
She loved to play golf, watch sports, read and was an avid bridge player. We all will miss her conversations from business to baseball and lessons and laughs. The sadness of losing Rosie is greatly outshined by all we gained from a full life with her.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.bluebonnethills.com for the Fischer family.
