Rubina “Ruby” Lorenza Santangelo Dietel, age 86, of Colleyville, passed away on February 26, 2025. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island on July 24, 1938. She met the love of her life, Robert “Carl” Dietel and they married on September 28, 1957, in Providence. They settled in his hometown of Dallas following their marriage.
She and her husband, Carl, were very active volunteers for many years in multiple Chambers of Commerce in the Mid-Cities area. She never met a stranger and was a beloved Ambassador for the Chambers that she was involved in.
She was the life of the party and brightened every room she entered. She had a silly, fun personality and her desire was always to make everyone feel welcome and loved. People naturally gravitated towards her. You could never meet anyone prouder of their Italian heritage and she never missed an opportunity to share that pride. She loved to cook and feed people - the moment you entered her home it was mangia! (eat!)
She embodied what it means to be a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her life revolved around her family, and she showed her unconditional love in everything that she did.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Carl, and her sister Ann Adamo. She is also survived by her children, Loren Dickson (Jim), Todd Dietel, Bonnie Boyd (Gary), and Mark Dietel (Heather); her 9 grandchildren, Rebecca Hurlburt (Chad), Caroline Peterson (Tyler), Robert Boyd (Desiree), Suzanne Maag (Ryan), Russell Boyd (Paulina), Natalie Bammert (Tate), Kaitlin Dietel, Kaila Dietel, and Reese Dietel, as well as her 8 great-grandchildren, Corie, Camdyn and Carly Hurlburt, Brooks and Avery Maag, Brazos Bammert, Luca Boyd, and Pike Boyd.
Private services will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
