Sammie Lou was born to Sam & Lois Jones on August 15, 1941, in Lufkin, Texas. After graduating from Winters High School in 1959, she attended McMurry College. She was a dedicated homemaker for her husband of 52 years Wally, and together they raised three boys in Abilene, Texas.
As a young woman, Sammie enjoyed water skiing, hunting, and square dancing. Later, she and Wally spent many years bass fishing. She was an incredible cook, and the most dedicated fan at her sons’ and grandchildren’s ball games.
She is survived by her brother Bob (Lunette) Jones, three sons Monty (Jill) Milliner, Greg (Holly) Bolin, David (Nancy) Bolin; her five grandchildren Hunter, Kearby, Rachel, Amanda, and Parker, and one great grandchild Sloane.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday June 3rd, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, Texas (5725 Colleyville Blvd). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Methodist Church, Winters. P.O. Box 247, Winters, TX 79567.
