Sherry J Runnels

Sherry was born in Ardmore in 1950 to Burniss and Louise Mitchell. Sherry married John Runnels in 1984 in Irving, TX. Sherry raised her son and step children in Texas before returning to Ardmore after 20 years to care for her mother. Family was special to Sherry and she is remembered for being a devoted wife, amazing mother and step mother and was lovingly called Nanny by her precious grandchildren. Sherry spent her retirement years making memories at Lake Murray and managing her rental properties. Sherry loved sitting on the porch of her dream home, sipping her coffee and watching the birds. Sherry had a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her sweet dog Bella Baby, who was never far from her side.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father Burniss, her mother Louise and her sister Karen Mitchell. Sherry is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Runnels of Ardmore, Ok; son Charles Schreiber and wife Dani of Ardmore, Ok; Daughter Christina Runnels of Azle, Tx; Son Dustin Runnels and wife Patricia of Jackson, Mo; Son Joshua Runnels and wife Courtney of Fort Worth, TX; Grandchildren Alexis Runnels, Ali Runnels, Hannah Garnett, Dustin Runnels Jr., and Maci Runnels; Great Granddaughter Jade Gardee; Sister in law Donna Sizer and husband Daniel of Keller, Tx.

Sherry’s life will be celebrated in a private family memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ardmore Animal Shelter, 321 Carol Brown Blvd, Ardmore, Ok 73401 would be greatly appreciated.
