Solomona Faialaga Magalei Sr. of Faleniu, American Samoa and Laie, Hawaii, passed away and was reunited with his beloved sweetheart Bella Uale Magalei on October 31, 2021 at the age of 80.
Solomona, born on July 31, 1941, was the oldest son of Faialaga Faavai Magalei and Tuloto Pulu Magalei. He didn’t have the opportunity for much formal education instead choosing to work and help to provide for his four sisters and five brothers. His work ethic and desire to take care of his family eventually led him to move to Laie, Hawaii where he met the love of his life, Bella Uale, together they raised four children, Benjalynn Magalogo (deceased), Benjamin Magalei, Solomina Magalei and Solomona Magalei Jr.
Solomona lived by his life motto: “A good name is better than a good face.” His family describe him as a Papa that was generous with his time and was always there for us. He was very disciplined and strict in nature and considered a provider and protector for his loved ones. Although he had a quiet nature, he had a wonderful influence on those around him. He enjoyed traveling all over to visit family spending time living in Asia and traveling around Europe.
He will be remembered as an honest, respectful, and humble man that loved his family and has lived a life as a faithful and loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Children- Benjalynn (dec) and husband Wayne Magalogo, Benjamin and wife Martha Magalei, Solomina Magalei, and Solomona Magalei Jr.
Grandchildren-Benjalynn Magalogo, Owen Magalogo, Tevita Magalei, Belynda Magalei Winger, Myndi Magalei Fonokalafi, Shalysa Crabtree, Shaelynn Magalei, Tinei Su’a Jr, Tayden Su’a, Benjamin Magalei Jr., Shadatee Su’a.
Great Grandchildren- Bella Magalei, Trey Mohetau, Mya Magalei, Kaimana Winger, Ana Fonokalafi and Sione Fonokalafi.
Siblings: Talatasi Tatupu, Alesi Magalei (dec), Tufi Magalei (dec), Losifafo Magalei, Taofiofi Magalei, Soonalote Smoody Tufele, Richard Lake Magalei (dec), Susana Magalei and Amani Magalei.
Funeral:
Family and loved ones are invited to Solomona’s funeral services at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas on Tuesday, November 16th at 12:30pm.
