

Steve was born in Fargo, North Dakota on May 25th, 1960, to Vernette (Priebe) and Carl Wendler. He was the youngest in their family of four children. During his childhood, Steve lived throughout the Midwest and graduated in 1978 from Lahser High School in Bloomfield Hills, MI. A graduate of Michigan State University, Steve worked in both the Defense and Transportation industries for 32 years. His engineering career started at Texas Instruments in Lewisville, Texas, where he met Susan (Goodman), his cherished wife of 37 years. They were united in marriage on June 25th, 1988, in TX and were blessed with two beloved sons, Jason and Eric. They lived in Lewisville, TX and later moved to Flower Mound, TX.
Steve is predeceased by his loving parents and his older brother, James Wendler.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife and sons, Susan, Jason and Eric. He is also survived by his two sisters Deborah (Willaim) Hattle and Linda (Thomas) Dekar as well as several nieces, nephews, and grandnephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, on March 7th, 2026, from 1:30-2:30.
A Reception will follow at the same venue from 3:00-5:00pm.
