Susan Louise Wallace Burke, 71, born April 30, 1955, passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 21, 2026.
Susan was born in Newport Beach, California, and raised in Orange County, California. She spent much of her young adult life working in her family’s business, Wallace Trade Bindery, before dedicating herself fully to marriage and motherhood. In 1976, she began the chapter of life she valued most — becoming a wife and later a mother for the first time in 1978. Susan devoted herself to raising her children and caring for her family.
Susan navigated life the best way she knew how while enduring many personal challenges and ailments throughout the years. Though life was not always easy for her, she still found joy in the things she loved most. She enjoyed cruising the world, arts and crafts, and recently found happiness in creating diamond art. Susan also loved collecting unique treasures and had a fascination with exotic breeds of animals, which brought her much joy and curiosity.
At times, Susan found it difficult to relate to others, and relationships could be complicated. But those who knew her understood that she loved in her own unique way and carried a very distinctive love language. Susan was loved deeply, even when she did not always feel it herself. One thing that will forever be remembered about her was her beautiful, warm smile — a smile that could light up a room and leave a lasting impression on those around her.
Susan is survived by her children: Laura Laffitte, Michael Burke, Tamara Maya, and Kenneth Burke; her beloved grandchildren: Raeann Jones, Brayden Jones, Cameron Jones, Kashton Jones, Grayson Laffitte, Violet Laffitte, Stellan Laffitte, Adaline Burke, Amelie Burke, Gabriel Maya, Ezekiel Maya, and Elijah Maya, and her newest great granddaughter Eliza Jones; her sister, Carol Cutting; and her longtime partner, Timothy Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband and the father of her children, Campbell H. Burke; her young daughter, Melissa S. Burke; her parents, Evelyn and Donald Wallace; and her brother, Donnie Wallace.
Susan will be missed by many and remembered always by those who loved her. Until we meet again with her in the year of our Lord, may she rest in eternal peace.
