Tom Conway Jr. of Bedford, Texas passed away peacefully on July 3, 2019.
He will always be remembered as a loving father to all that knew and loved him. He was born on January 28, 1939, to parents, Thomas James Conway and Dorothy Burford Conway.
Tom graduated from Tyler High School in 1957, then went on to marry his High School sweetheart, Linda in 1960. He graduated with honors from Mississippi State University in 1962 earning a spot on the President’s list. He worked for Varo in Plano for a few years before settling in at Abbott Laboratories in Las Colinas where he served as an engineer for 33 years. He retired in 2011. After he retired, he enjoyed frequenting the local gun range to shoot his guns. He also enjoyed collecting guns and reloading his own ammunition. Another one of his enjoyments was working on cars, especially his corvettes and talking cars with his “car” buddies and his kids. He was an avid deep-sea fisherman whenever he got the chance. His absolute favorite thing to do was to make sure his family was first and was always taken care of.
Tom Conway is survived by wife of 59 years, Linda Conway, of Bedford, Texas, children, Chad Conway, of North Richland Hills, Texas, Leslie Conway Deguzman, of Fort Worth, Texas, Kelly Conway, of Bedford, Texas, grandchildren, Cole Deguzman, of Crowley, Texas, T.J. Conway, of North Richland Hills, Texas, Dylan Deguzman, of Fort Worth, Texas, Reilly Conway, of Hurst, Texas, brother, Bill Conway of Spring, Texas, sister Carol MacRae, of Carmel, Indiana, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas James Conway and Dorothy Burford Conway, of Euless, Texas.
