Thomas "Tommy" John Srokosz III passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 after a long fight with cancer.

Tommy, loving husband, father, Dziadek, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend was born on June 3, 1950 in Denton, Texas and from that day forward never met a stranger. He grew up in Denton, a '68 Denton High School graduate, and later returned to work with his friend, Alan, at Calvert Automotive for 30 years. In addition to his wife, Kathy, of 45 years and family, his love of drag racing, hunting, 4-wheeling, old sci-fi movies, building/fixing/creating almost anything his wife imagined (much to his dismay) and Disney family vacations were his passions. He believed you should do it right the first time, duct tape could fix anything, and you should "hold onto that, you may need it someday."

He is preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Thomas (Tom) Srokosz, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughters Cara Richardson and husband Randy and Taylor Barrett, granddaughter Riley, sisters, Patricia Green and husband Wayne and Kathie Steele and husband Keith, close family Bill and Holly Hargadine, Judy and Jerry Lehew, Paul and Karen Hargadine, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thanks to his wonderful care team at UTSW Simmons and Moncrief Cancer Center for making his experience meaningful.

Dearest Kathy, Cara and Taylor
So sorry for your loss. Tommy was a great man. He was a loving husband, father and dedicated friend. I remember those fun times we had at your house with Tommy barbecuing and those famous strawberry daiquiris! I cherish all those fun times we had together throughout the years when I lived in Texas! My thoughts and prayers are with y’all and I know Tommy is heaven planning the next barbecue.
All our love dear friend.

The neighborhood will just not be the same without Tommy pulling his truck over so he could say hi and catch up on how you are doing. He never failed to make me feel special just because he took the time to stop. He was always willing to help a friend in need. His Halloween and Christmas displays which he and his family created for all to enjoy were an inspiration. I will work hard on mine now to carry on in his honor.
