Thomas (Tom) Edward Strawn, age 88, passed away on August 16, 2026, in Azle, Texas.
Tom was born on October 15, 1937, in Hammond, Indiana, to Carl Edward Strawn and Dorothy O’Connor. He was raised in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1955.
He married Evelyn Marie Grandel on February 1, 1958, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Together, they had four children: Jeff Strawn (wife Tina), Tammy Mastin (husband David), Don Strawn (wife Carla), and Michelle Poirier (husband Michael). Tom had 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He is survived by his sister, Carol Long (husband Jim), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Edna, and two stepbrothers.
Tom was a member of the United States Air Force (USAF), working in the medical field for 20 years. While serving in the USAF, he received several awards and commendations.
After retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant from the USAF, he worked in outside sales for Kelly-Moore Paint Company and Jones Blair Paint Company.
In his spare time, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, building puzzles, photography, music, and traveling. He was also extremely proud of his service to his country.
Family and friends will remember Tom as a devoted husband and father with a witty sense of humor and captivating smile.
All services will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, August 24, 2026.The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, with the committal service to follow.
