He was my grandfather. He was always independent, even in situations when he really could have used the help, but that's just how he was.  He was also obsessed with repairing everything in the house when it broke down. He was always very active, right up until the very end.

Dale had many stories to tell and I loved listening. He was so much more than a fellow postal employee.  He was a proud veteran who knew freedom was not free and was not afraid to talk about it. He and his wife were great  parents and  opened their house to students  in the foreign exchange program. I remember him telling me about going to Paris to see one of them and climbing all the stairs up to the top of the Eiffel  Tower. He always seemed to have a secret, the joy of life.  I don't think he ever let anyone or anything  suck that joy out of his life.  Rest in peace my friend. It was a pleasure knowing you. Eileen Jones

I worked with Dale for 20 years at the Bedford Post Office, I’ve retired & living in Queensland, Australia. I am so sorry to hear of Dales passing & for his families loss, Dale was a gentleman & soft spoken, may he Rest In Peace. 🙏❤️

I  worked with Dale at Bedford Post Office , for about 20 years . Never heard him complaining about anything.  Very helpful colleague at work. Always explaining things in a simple way and telling about his life experiences with a smile, punctuated with his signature  laugh and chuckles. He will be missed!! May God rest his soul in peace!!

I knew Dale through the Bedford Post Office, he always had a smile and a kind word to everyone.  He loved his family and his grandkids and always a story to tell.

Dale was a great man.  Carried mail with him for years.  He was one you didn't mind being around,  worked hard,  laughed,  and enjoyed life and his family.  Prayers to the family.   It's been years since I had seen Dale but the memories are still there. 

I knew Tolbert as Dale for over 20 to 25 years at the Bedford PO.  Dale was always helpful with a good word of encouragement.  I respected his opinion and his work ethics. He was a good work friend and left lots of good memories. God bless you Dale.

I worked with Dale at the Post Office many years. Also Dale was a Vietnam vet in the Air Force.  I remember seeing Dale one time at our retirement lunches we have about every 3 months. Rest in peace.

I knew Dale through our Masonic Lodge association.  He was a plural member of Chalk Mountain Masonic Lodge #894.  He affiliated with Chalk Mountain on 1/10/2015.   He was a great man, who was dedicated to his family, his country and Masonry.   He will be missed by all of us who knew him.   Rest In Peace, my Brother.
