OBITUARY

Mrs. Toye Ruth Brill

January 28, 1932April 2, 2020

Toye Ruth Brill, of Colleyville, TX, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 in Grapevine, TX. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother by all that knew and loved her. She was born on January 28, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert and Lois Ruth.

Toye was a loving wife to Don for more than 69 years. She met and married Don at the age of 18. They lived a full life together, they were married and lived in Cincinnati, then a job change took them to Simi Valley, Ca and upon retirement moved Colleyville, TX to be with Becky/Chris and their children. She was the biggest champion of her daughter and family. No one loved them more. When her grandchildren were young, she would be found at all their sporting events cheering the loudest. She was an avid swimming fan and spent many years supporting her swimming family. She was an awesome grandmother and fiercely devoted to them. She met her great granddaughter Ellie before her passing.

Toye is survived by her husband Don Brill, daughter Becky Hall and son-in-law Chris Hall (Colleyville, TX); her grandchildren, Katie Hall (Colleyville, TX), Ryan and Michelle Hall (Phoenix, AZ) and Jared Hall (Austin, TX). And her great granddaughter Ellie Hall (Phoenix, AZ)

The Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 pm on May 23rd at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel with a reception to follow at the home of Becky and Chris Hall. In support of mom’s love of swimming and former TCU Swim Coach, we ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Richard Sybesma Endowed Scholarship at TCU. Donations can be made c/o TCU Frog Club (Richard Sybesma Scholarship), TCU Box 297140, Fort Worth, Texas 76129 or at tcufrogclub.com

Carlos and I lived next door to Toye and Don for 10 years and got to be friends with them and their family. This was the beginning of a long relationship with her daughter and son in law and we watched her grandkids grow up. I enjoyed our long talks about her and Don’s adventures in their big RV and her grandkids swimming. She was always ready to give advice on my grandkids swimming lessons as well. She definitely loved life and didn’t miss anything. Thanks for the memories.

I spent many hours sitting with Toye at swim meets and benefiting from her knowledge of the sport and her enthusiasm for the best efforts of all the kids, not just her own. The way she loved and supported her family was inspirational to me. She was a champion in her own right with such a strong spirit and a huge heart and I was so fortunate to have known her.

Toye was a memory in action.
I remember her as salty, and the most adoring grandparent to Ryan, Katie, and Jared. She could be tough on them, but always with love in her heart and a martini in her hand. She will be missed. My prayers and loving thoughts to the family, and especially to Don for loving her for so long. He too is a treasure. RIP, dear Lady.

I could not be sadder. I loved Toye. We were all young when we met. Don and my husband Paul (who died 23 years ago) were best of friends from school days. So our families were close until they moved from Cincinnati. Toye, Don and myself (90 )were blessed to have lived to see our children's,children , children. My sympathy Don and Becky and to the entire Hall and Brill families. Prayers and fond memories too from Jim, Mark and Jeff. Our dear sweet Pam died 2018 age 54. May Toye Rest In Peace
My love always, Peggy Heidel
