Tyler James Dunn
(Goose Goose; Bub)
(July 6, 1998 – March 8, 2025)
Tyler James Dunn, 26, of Dallas, left this world much too soon on March 8, 2025. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 6th, 1998, to his loving and devoted parents, David and Cassie Dunn.
Preferring work over school, Tyler began working in the A/V technology industry while still in high school. Upon graduating from Harmony School of Innovation-Fort Worth (where he enjoyed challenging his teachers and learning a little bit, too), he moved to Waco and learned the ins-and-outs of cars and financing as a Salesman and Marketing Director for a local dealership. From there, he co-founded an A/V installation company specializing in the luxury home market. He then moved to College Station and, at 22, became an Operations Manager for a multi-state A/V integration company, overseeing bids and installs of new technology in schools throughout the state of Texas (A kid that had to be dragged kicking and screaming to school was now willingly in schools all over the state talking with superintendents and helping integrate technology to teach the next generation of children!) and he proudly helped oversee the design and construction of the company’s new office and warehouse in College Station. Deciding his dreams lied elsewhere, he moved to Dallas with his girlfriend Lindsey in 2022 and became an active and successful stock trader.
Tyler, Lindsey, and Eloise 🐾 could be found throughout Dallas spending time with friends or traveling the world at a spa in Baden-Baden, skiing the Alps, or in Florida with friends; and everywhere people knew his name, he knew theirs, and they were happy to see him. He thoroughly enjoyed home improvement projects, technology, talking business, bike riding, Formula One racing, cars, playing video games, building Lego sets, spending time with family and friends, and cuddling with his dogs. You could ask Tyler questions about almost anything, and he either knew the answer or offered sage advice far beyond his years. In the rare cases he didn’t know the answer or didn’t know how to do something, you could bet he would research it and have an answer or know how to do it in very short order. He was exceedingly brilliant, loving, charismatic, and stylish. Tyler was fiercely protective of his family, especially his mother, sister, brothers, and girlfriend, and would (and literally did) drive through a hurricane to rescue them. He was always eager to help those he loved, especially with any type of family situation, technology issues, or home improvement project. It didn’t matter how far away you were, he would be there in an instant to help you if he knew you needed it.
His mother enjoyed getting to hold her Goose Goose, doing DIY projects with him, their sing-a-longs in the car, and traveling with him; his father enjoyed hearing and learning from his knowledge on many different subjects, giving him undesired advice, getting his help on DIY projects, his smile, seeing how much people loved and admired him, and hugging him; his sister enjoyed any time spent with him, whether it be traveling or simply grocery shopping, and they enjoyed annoying each other in a loving sibling manner; his brothers enjoyed playing with him and enjoyed him teaching them all sorts of things about life; his grandparents enjoyed getting to travel with him, taking him to grandad’s job sites where he developed a passion for all things construction, giving him back rubs, late night talks, and morning breakfasts; and Mike “enjoyed” all of Bubba’s projects around the house such as installing speakers in his bedroom ceiling while stepping through the bathroom ceiling.
As a toddler, Tyler would say the most profound, off the wall, and silly things which lovingly earned him the nickname “Goose” (short for silly goose), given to him by his mom. As early as two years of age, Tyler taught his mom many wonderful things such as how to feed his hungry infant sister, Brittany, barbecue sauce through the crib rails. He continued his journey as a big brother by teaching Gabriel many things such as electrical re-wiring, proper etiquette, and most recently driving a standard transmission Jeep. However, one of his most lasting acts of love was bonding with his baby brother, Marcelino, with skin-to-skin contact on the hospital bed immediately after birth. He was such a loving big brother, that after the birth of Brittany, his father began calling him “Bub” (short for Bubba), recognizing this was one of the most important and loving roles he could and would fulfill in his life.
Tyler is survived by his mother Cassie Dunn and her partner Mike Martinez (bonus dad); father David Dunn; girlfriend Lindsey Bullard and fur baby Eloise; sister Brittany Dunn and her boyfriend Cody Nguyen; brothers Gabriel and Marcelino Martinez; Grandparents – Gary and Debbie Dunn (Granddad and Bebe), Mark and Lucky Reiten (Granny and Poppy), Garren and Canice Lockhart (Pa and Nana), and Rudy and Dorothy Martinez (Rudy and Feeties); Great-grandmother Connie King (Gram) and husband Shaun King; Aunts and Uncles – Jennifer Dunn, Mindi and Quentin Willis, Chris Reiten, Holly and Johnathan Machuga, Melodie and Carl Katinsky, Teena and Tony Miller, Angelyna Martinez-Boyd, and Tim Martinez; Great Aunts and Uncles – Larry and Kathryn Dunn, Leann Dunn, Mike and Kelly Townsend, Gerry and Renee Lauterwasser, and Charlie and Debbie Rivera; numerous beloved Cousins – Jeff, Jacob, Markus, Madison, Calvin, Leah, Carter, Sophia, Sandra, Reese, Stephanie, Hunter, Hailey, Luna, Jay, Tim, Brad, Gerry, Jennifer, Rebecca, and Morgan; many other loving family members; numerous caring friends; and fur babies Venus and Maverick.
