

Velma was born on July 5, 1935, in Winnsboro, TX to James and Thelma (Caviness) Krantz. Later she moved to Dallas, TX and married Billy Ray Stringfellow on January 6, 1958. They lived in the Dallas/Ft Worth area where they raised their children: Dianna, Billy, Charles, and Susan.
Velma was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Sister. She had a degree in accounting and worked at various places. She enjoyed reading her Bible, Christian romances, going to church, and spending time with her family. Her best friends were her sisters. Her passion was selling Mary Kay. She never met a stranger and would engage anyone in conversation. Before the conversation was over, she had a new customer and friend.
Velma is survived by her husband Donald Carr, Children: Dianna Wild and husband Scott, Charles (Wayne) Stringfellow and wife Jackie, Susan Gwinner and husband Jim, 8 grandchildren – Daniel, Joshua, Casey, Lucas, April, Carl, Phillip, & Brian, 15 great-grandchildren – Alyssa, Karleigh, Hailey, Collin, Cameron, Valentin, Holden, Sydney, Kaitlyn, Austin, Emily, Grace, Nash, Nolan & Hannah 2 sisters – Judy & Pattie.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents: Thelma Deal and James Krantz, Sisters: Jean and Jan, Brother: Jackie, her son Billy, and 1 great grandchild – Ainsley.
Family night will be March 12 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors 523 S. Main Street; Grapevine, TX 76051. The funeral service will be March 13th at 3 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home 5725 Colleyville Blvd.; Colleyville, TX. Interment will follow the funeral service at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
