Velma C Sanders

Velma was the youngest of nine children to sharecropper and grew up in the Great Depression. She graduated in Haset, Texas as the Valedictorian of her class from a one room schoolhouse.

She married Murray Hubert Sanders on January 8, 1942, and remained married for 61 years until his passing in 2002.

Velma worked as a saleswoman at Sears in Oak Cliff, Texas, then again at Sears in Hurst, Texas. She liked her job and brought home clothes for the family. Her hobbies were going to church every time the doors opened, Sunday mornings and evenings and Wednesday night Also, cooking, gardening and yard work.

Velma was a good cook, housewife, very good wife and very hard worker.

Velma is survived by children, Randal, Cathy, Jan and Bart. grandchildren: Chris and Carry Sanders, Michael and Kyle Blanco, Chandra and Adam Winder and Lauren and Lindsey Sanders.

Funeral service will be at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, on December 18, 2025, at 1:30pm. Committal service will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
