

Vontilla M. Watson was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Vontilla will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
She was the daughter of William Lee and Leona Buck.
She had one sister, Emma. Vontilla was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her sister. She and her sister experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
Empathic and loyal, Vontilla was committed to making her new family happy.
Vontilla worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Another blessing for Vontilla was the gift of seven grandchildren, Denise, Tammy, Rob, Janet, Jamie, Mark, and Matthew and twelve great-grandchildren.
Fortunately, Vontilla enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Vontilla worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. She was employed for 13 years with Swift and Company. Than for 15 years with General Dynamics/Lockheed Aircraft. Vontilla always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Throughout her life, Vontilla was a doer and was always actively involved in professional and community organizations. Throughout her later years, Vontilla was an active member of the Pythian Sisters and Texas Nomad Society.
Vontilla passed away on March 3, 2016 at Southlake, Texas. She is survived by daughters, Pricilla Fox (George) and Cindy Martin (John); grandchildren, Denisa Mohr, Tammy Havener, Rob Worley, Janet Slusser, Jamie Carter, Mark Fox and Matthew Fox; twelve great-grandchildren; her sister, Emma Lea Wright; and a great many nieces and nephews, all whom she loved dearly. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Vontilla was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Simply stated, Vontilla was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Vontilla leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Vontilla M. Watson.

Vontilla (Vonnie)M. Watson passed away peacefully into the arms of Our Heavenly Father on March 3, 2016 in Southlake, Texas. She was 88 years young!

Vonnie was born in Tolar, TX on January 9, 1928 to William Lee and Leona Buck. In October 1946, a friend introduced her to the man she would eventually marry, the 'love of her life' Grover Watson. They married in May 1947 and resided for many years in Haltom City later moving to Southlake. Vonnie was employed for 13 years at Swift & Company and later retired after 15 years with General Dynamics/Lockheed Aircraft. Vonnie was a long-term member of the Pythian Sisters and Texas Nomad Society serving since 1982.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Grover, and by grandson Paul Allen Brown.
SURVIVORS: daughters, Pricilla Fox (George) and Cindy Martin (John); grandchildren, Denisa Mohr, Tammy Havener, Rob Worley, Janet Slusser, Jamie Carter, Mark Fox and Matthew Fox; twelve great-grandchildren; her sister, Emma Lea Wright; and a great many nieces and nephews, all whom she loved dearly.
