Wanda "Lucy" Bennett

Wanda (Lucy) Bennett, age 87, passed away on July 29, 2026 in Southlake, Texas.

Lucy shared 69 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, John. She worked as a secretary for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District. During summers, holidays, and every opportunity she had, she treasured spending time with her only grandson, Brandon, who was one of the greatest joys of her life.

After retirement, Lucy and John enjoyed traveling extensively across the country in their motorhome with a close group of friends, creating many cherished memories together.

Lucy was preceded in death by her mother, May Thomas; her father, John Thomas; her brothers, Hartsel Thomas, Herbert Thomas, Bobby Thomas, and George Thomas; and her sisters, Hazel Morris and Virginia East.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Bennett; her daughter, Valerie Fontenot (Tim); her grandson, Brandon Fontenot (Rachel); and her great-grandson, Bennett.

Private services will be held.
