He was born to Wuchen and Junfang Chen on February 12th, 1962, in Shanghai, China. Growing up Peter felt grateful to have such loving and nurturing parents and for the childhood he got to share with his siblings. He also fondly remembered his elementary and high school teachers, as he believed they gave him the necessary skill sets to succeed.
At the age of 20 he was hired as an assistant professor at Nanjing Forestry University, which continued to support Peter when he came to the USA to advance his education.
Peter was a loving husband and father. He was married to June Yan for over 30 years, but he had known her for more than 40 years of his life. He was also a very proud father of his son, Johnny, who is studying to become a doctor.
Peter took great pride in his career as an engineer. He contributed to medical device technology advancement from cardiovascular devices to spectacle lens and to powered surgical instruments. He was hired by Allen Hilton as part of MDT Fort Worth’s 1st generation NPD TEAM. He also created a brand-new class (FDA Regulations and Quality Control Methodology in Medical Device Industry) at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of University of North Texas and taught there for four years. His work with the school has had a positive impact in exposing students in the real-world settings. However, he took most pride in the fact that he had the opportunity to work with so many talented and dedicated cross-functional team members.
