Wesley "Gene" Holt

Gene was a graduate of Farmersville High School. He worked for Bell Helicopter. Gene married Shirlene Holt on February 16th, 1956. They were married for 63 years.

As an avid gardener, he was a member of the Daylily Society of Fort Worth and the Iris Society of Fort Worth. Gene was also a voracious reader, finishing stacks of books in no time at all. Gene also enjoyed watching football and baseball, cheering on the Longhorns and the Texas Rangers. He was a wonderful man, with a great laugh, and he will be dearly missed by his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirlene; his parents, Odie and Leonard; and four brothers Carlton, Damon, Ricky and Phillip.

He is survived by his daughters Michelle Waldron and her husband Gary, and Melanie Thornburg and her husband Randall; his grandchildren Jesse Kelley, Jacob Kelley, and Courtney Waldron; and his sisters Shirley Holt Stroup and Vicki Holt Noel.

A graveside service for Gene will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX, 76034, United States. The service is scheduled for January 16, 2026, starting at 1:00 pm.
