Bill was a fifth generation Texan, born October 6th, 1929, in Fort Worth, Texas. He grew up in the Poly area and graduated in 1947 from Poly High School. No matter how old he was or where he was, he was a Poly boy at heart.
He was a lifelong Mason, a go-kart racer and always had a classic car or motorcycle in the garage. He treated all people with kindness and served it up with a big smile on his face. His wife of 72 years, Peggy, was the love of his life. His wife and children always came first.
He worked at Ma Bell from 1948 until 1969, with a two year break from 1950-1952 to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1969, he started the first of three successful businesses of which he built and sold all three. In retirement, he built the best designed ranch operation in Acton, Texas. My dad's hard work and dedication made everything he tried successful.
Poppa will be greatly missed by his wife, Peggy, son Tommy (Dana), daughters, Karon (Michael) and Sharon (Richard); grandchildren Sara, Julie, Shay, Thomas, Summer and Sierra and seven great grandchildren.
A funeral will occur on Thursday, February 16th at 12:00 p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville, Texas 76034. Burial will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
