She was 90 years blessed and surrounded by so many of her loved ones. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and "Gigi". Wilma was an amazing woman of God who opened her home to everyone. She made sure you had enough to eat. And always told you "be careful now" when you left.
Wilma Jean Kesterson McKinney was born December 26, 1927 to Jesse and Alice (Parker) Kesterson in Cape Girardeau, MO. Wilma and James McKinney were married in Cape Girardeau, MO on July 6, 1946. After spending 18 years as a military wife and living everywhere from Alaska to Texas, they settled down in Ft. Worth, TX. During their marriage they had two children Catherine and Mike. After 58 wonderful years of marriage James preceded her in death December 30, 2004. Wilma was an incredibly talented woman. Among her many talents, she hand quilted for 65 years.
Wilma is preceded in death by her husband James and son Mike. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Medina; son, Sean McKinney; sister, Wanda Probst; brothers, Paul and Harold Kesterson; grandchildren, Michael Taylor, Jim Taylor, Alan McKinney, Phoebe Medina, Lauren Weintraub; great-grandchildren, Mariah Taylor, Destiney Holt, Elijah Daley, Isaiah Daley, Carmen McKinney, Finn Weintraub, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Michael Taylor, Jim Taylor, Sean McKinney, Alan McKinney, Joey Daley, and Justin Stewart. Honorary Pallbearers are Phil Weintraub and Ray Dunlap. Though you could not be there physically, you are there in our hearts.
