Yong Chin Kim

He is survived by his wife, Sun Cha Kim, 3 children Sean Kim, Jessica Kieffer and Chaeho Kim, his grandchildren, Katie Kieffer and Carson Kieffer, Austin Kim and Mia Kim, his sister, Suk Foist and brother, Yong Hee Kim.

He was born on July 2, 1941, in Gunsan, South Korea. Yong was the fifth of nine children to Yong Soo Kim and Ha Cho Chae. He married the love of his life of 57 years, Sun Cha Yu, and together they raised their three children.

His life was marked by perseverance, discipline, and an unwavering dedication to his family and numerous friends. In pursuit of greater opportunities for his family, they moved to the United States in 1975 and built a life in Texas. Yong started a successful business, Kim’s Sewing Factory, in Irving and was deeply involved giving his time and support to his church and community. He found joy in playing golf, learning guitar and staying active on daily 4 mile walks. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family, friends, and those whose lives he touched by his kindness and gentle smile.

A visitation at 11am will be followed by the funeral service, burial and reception starting at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Services will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034. Family and friends are invited to attend.
