Ada Pearl Keough, 94, of Collierville, TN, passed from this life Saturday, January 5, 2019 at her daughter’s home. She was born December 2, 1924 to the late Hershal C. and Bessie May Keough and raised by her loving parents, the late Austin and Evie Mae Hamner. She was a member First Baptist Church Fisherville and a retired school secretary from the Memphis City Schools. Mrs. Keough is survived by a daughter; Judy Wales (Jim), a sister; Essie Jean Cooper of Wisconsin; four grandchildren; Jackie Anthony (Mike), Jonathan Wales (Tonya), Jerry Keough (Kasey), Trea Wales (Sarah); eight great- grandchildren; Caleb Anthony, Hannah Wales, Wesley Anthony, Ethan Wales, Timothy Wales, Becca Anthony, Kelsey Keough, Jackson Keough; and 2 great-great grandchildren; Evan Anthony and Stella Anthony. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband; Jack A. Keough, Jr., two sons; Jackie Keough, Jerry Keough and his wife, Lillie, a sister; Claudia Warren, a brother; Herbert C. Keough. Known as Ada Pearl, aunt Pearl, Ms. Keough, mom, and grandma, she was a fierce protector of her family and friends. Living in Fisherville in the same home her entire life, she was known in the community as generous and kind. She worked in the community school, George R. James, with the Fisherville and Eads school children until it closed in 1973. She then worked at Spring Hill Elementary in the Memphis City schools until her retirement. However, her love for the community children didn’t stop there. For approximately 10 years, she volunteered at Crosswind Elementary in Collierville. She worked in the community library and taught Sunday school. She was an avid reader. In recent years, even with her own health issues, she continued to serve others. Although blind, she made over 100 beaded necklaces for hospice patients in the Memphis area. Family will receive guests on Tuesday, January 8, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with the services to immediately follow at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Fisherville, 11893 Macon Rd. Eads, TN 38028. Burial will follow at First Baptist Fisherville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church Fisherville

For my 19th birthday, Grandmomma (Ada Pearl) rode in the car with Nana (Judy Wales) for 2 hours to Dyersburg, Tennessee to meet me for dinner. This was the best night.
