Barbara Graves Walker passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 20, 2026 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Miss Bobbie, as she was called by so many, was a devout Christian and a longstanding member of Collierville First Baptist Church. Her time on earth of some 94 years was one of faith and conviction.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mae Graves, her two sisters, Dot Griffin and Jo Walker, her daughter-in- law Sherry and her husband of 67 years, Joe G Walker. She is survived by her three sons Kent, Walt (Carroll) and Cliff (Brooke). Eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Born Barbara Jean Graves on June 12, 1932 in the small Mississippi Delta town of Louisville. She grew up and attended school in Leland. Moved to nearby Greenville after high school she attended Delta State University where she first met Joe. She graduated there with a degree in education. In addition to all this, she also received the great honor of being selected "Miss Delta State" in 1954.
Following her graduation, she taught school for one year before marrying Joe in 1955.
Shortly thereafter they started their family together and her life was dedicated to raising their three boys. With Bobbie, family was always first. As her father and father-in-law passed away, Bobbie eventually became the caregiver for her mom and mother-in-law. Taking both into their home until each of their passing. Her mom living to the age of 97. A true testament to her compassion and dedication to family.
All three boys went on to graduate college and become successful in their careers. A goal she had set and was very proud of. To her grandkids and great grandchildren she was called "MIM" She loved them all dearly.
A life well lived. Heaven has certainly gained another angel!!
