

Betty Grace Dunn Bulle, wife of Dr. Frank H. Bulle, died peacefully after a long illness at Germantown Village Nursing Home on December 29, 2013. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Catherine Clayton (Wesley) of Jackson, Tn and Carolyn Sisk of Brentwood, TN, and four grandchildren - Matthew Clayton, Nancy Clayton, Sarah Clayton, and John Michael Sisk. Betty Grace was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Raymond Bulle; two brothers - Carl Dunn and Byron Dunn; three sisters - Mildred Piper, Frances Brewer, and Lena Robertson; and her parents, Samuel Farley Dunn and Ora Mae Boren Dunn.
Betty Grace was born at home in Piperton, Tennessee on November 6, 1933. She was a graduate of Collierville High School and Lambuth College, and received her Masters Degree from the University of Memphis. A lifetime educator, Betty Grace became the youngest and one of the first women principals in Memphis when she was appointed the principal at White Station Elementary in the 1960s. She also taught school at Bartlett Elementary and in Covington, Milan and Paris, Tennessee where she was a guidance counselor.
Betty Grace was a loving wife and mother and very supportive of her husband's work as a United Methodist Minister. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma teacher's sorority and the Collierville Contemporary Club.
After retiring, Betty Grace and Frank moved back to Collierville where she again became a member of Collierville Methodist Church where she was confirmed as a child, and rejoined the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class of which she had been a founding member. She enjoyed family gatherings at the lake, holidays at the Dunn family schoolhouse, and traveling around the country and the world with her beloved husband and friends.
After becoming ill, Betty Grace continued to celebrate life, inspiring others by living out her motto: "I can choose to mourn what I have lost or celebrate what I have left."
The family expresses much appreciation to Betty Grace's caregivers, especially Bonnie Hudson and the staff of Germantown Village.
Funeral services will be at Collierville United Methodist Church on the Square on January 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be January 1st , 5 pm to 7 pm at Collierville Funeral Home and at the church prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. Memorials may be sent to Collierville United Methodist Church.
