Shelby and Family
My heart is heavy with you and for you.
Wonderful memories of growing up with Betty Jean my Aunt, but as a sister that I didn’t have.
Only 6 months separated us in age. We were raised when times were hard but we didn’t know it.
We played outside making mud pies , wading in the small stream behind our house, borrowing eggs from mother hen, taking them to the store to buy Peanut Butter Kisses. They came 5 in a pack for a penny. We laughed about how much candy we got for those eggs.
Our lives changed, we grew older with building our lives, our homes, our families but when time came later in life , we reconnected, relived our childhood, our memories renewed. It was as yesterday. By way of our phones we talked and laughed together at our childhood antics. We became kids again at heart. A lot of things had changed but not our memories. We never hung up the phone without saying I Love You.
PRECIOUS MEMORIES
HOW THEY LINGER.
God Bless All Of You is our prayer.

My aunt Betty was a joy to be around. She always had that smile. She loved her family. I was so blessed to be the oldest granddaughter and to be around all my uncles and aunts. Aunt Betty and my sweet aunt Lucille always played together at the Hovater House, paper dolls. Why we built a lot of play houses. I always was so proud to go out on the week end. When I was out of school. I even got to trade with the peddler. Oh. what a wonderful life I have been blessed with to have so many aunts and uncles . I love you aunt Betty. God has another Angel.

Shelby
My heart was saddened when I received word about Aunt Betty Jean passing. She will always hold a special place in my heart. You and she have always been special. Y’all were so supportive and never missed a wedding, get together with family, funeral, etc. I will always remember the time I stayed with y’all when I went to Memphis State for a class. It was a fun time and enjoyed being with you y’all. Betty Jean loved her family and every time she came to Aunt Lucille to visit they would drop by our house for a popcorn call as they called it. I have been blessed with loving , caring, and Christian family.
Take care of yourself because that’s what Betty Jean would want. God willing I will try to attend her services. Give my sympathy to the children.
Love Susie
