With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Clair Thomas, who entered her heavenly home on July 10, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born on January 4, 1941, in Fayette County, Tennessee, Betty spent her life devoted to her faith and family. A faithful Baptist Christian, she was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for those around her. She made her home in Collierville, Tennessee, where she created a lifetime of cherished memories with family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, James Thomas; her son, Scott Thomas; her parents, W.T. Joyner and Pauline Broadaway Joyner; her sisters, Janie Switzer, Mary Anderson, Jean Bell, and Martha Nell Joyner; and her brothers, Jerry Joyner and Larry Joyner.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Carla Dick and husband, Chris Dick, and Paula Scott; her stepdaughter, Audrey Webb; her sister, Diane Kimble and husband, Marty Kimble; her brother, Bobby Joe Joyner and wife, Vyonne Joyner; her grandchildren, Drew Scott and wife, Jana Scott; Wheeler Allen; Kelsey Scott; Peyton Loftis and husband, Austin Loftis; and Haley Sherman and husband, Sam Sherman; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Sophia Jerome, Adelynn Loftis, Kaylee Loftis, Cade Loftis, Penny Scott, Colson Scott, Ash Allen, and Parker Scott.
Betty’s legacy is one of faith, love, and devotion. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her loved ones and is resting in the presence of her Savior.
