Born in Hays, Kansas on October 9, 1958, to parents Harry and Dee Wasinger, Brenda was the oldest of three beautiful daughters. They moved to Garden Grove, California when Brenda was very young. She grew up with her toes in the sand, riding horses through strawberry fields, and engaging in general fun-loving mischief with her lifelong friends and sisters. She was a true Southern California girl of the 60’s and 70’s and often spoke in fondness of her childhood. She graduated Pacifica High School in 1976, attended Saddle Back College, and obtained her RN degree in 1978. She worked as a trauma nurse at Fountain Valley Hospital until the year 1985 when she moved to Germantown, Tennessee with her husband, a newly hired FedEx pilot.
Ken met Brenda while she was in college and a romance with a love for travel and plans for nonstop life adventures blossomed. They were married on August 15th, 1981, and began building a family that was proud to have her as the matriarch. Brenda was an inspiration to all who knew her. She created a horse stable in Collierville that remained in operation for 20 years, helped developed and expand Air Venture Flight Center in Olive Branch, Mississippi, and was active throughout her adult life in various local charities and organizations. Brenda never knew a stranger, did not take moments for granted, loved her family fiercely, adored her grandchildren, cooking, gardening, and traveling. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Ken; her five children, Jessica, Andrea, Jackie, David, & Oksana; and her eight grandchildren, Nikita, Denis, Kiril, Cadence, Aria, Lydia, Michael, & Matthew.
