Carolyn E. Bandy Sidle, affectionately known by family and friends as "Buppa", passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 during her Christmas family vacation in Coldwater, MS. Although she had been a resident of Lake Hills, Tx the past few years, Memphis, Tn and Collierville, Tn was home.
She grew up in the Memphis and Collierville, TN area; where she raised her three children, and lived in Collierville, not only as a youth when attending Collierville schools, but also for another 20 years until she retired from the IRS in Memphis, Tn at the age of 72.
Shortly after retirement she moved to the country on 5 beautiful acres in the hillside of Lake Hills, Texas. She loved the beautiful countryside and lakes there and loved feeding her Texas deer who would eat right out of the palm of her hand. The Deer Whisperer we named her. They brought her such joy and peace.
Carolyn loved flowers and grew a host of roses, irises, and other flowers over the years. She was an avid book reader, great cook and loved to fish. She would rather spend the day fishing and cooking with family and friends than just about anything. She passed that love onto her children and grandchildren.
When Carolyn wasn't tending to her flowers or fishing and spending time with family and her pets, she enjoyed traveling, puzzles, games, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, writing in her prayer journal, singing, going to museums, concerts, and dinner, and feeding and watching her deer that graced her back yard in Texas.
Her favorite nightly routine was to take photos of her children and grandchildren and make them into puzzles on her phone; telling each one goodnight and praying for them before going to sleep.
Carolyn had a very compassionate and caring heart for others and was a Caretaker by nature, caring for her parents and mother-in-law in their later years; who also loved to make others laugh with her very quick wit. She was also an avid animal lover and rescued many cats and dogs over the years.
She was a member of Grace Evangelical Church while living in Collierville, TN and later joined The Cowboy Church in Lakehills, Tx. where she enjoyed the ladies and couples bible studies at both.
Carolyn is survived by family members: Lynn Sidle of Olive Branch, MS, her daughters Lisa Stanton of Rome, GA and Mary Dee Swatzyna Bailey (Terry) of Hernando/Coldwater, MS, son Brian McKewen of Memphis, TN, bonus son Jason Sidle (Lauren) of Bartlett, TN, grandchildren: Elaina Stanton of Smyrna, GA, Sabrina Morgan (Evan) of Hernando, MS, Valerie Smith (Topher) of Daphne, AL, David McKewen of Memphis, Tn, Ginny Sidle of Tn, great-granddaughter, Avery; Brother John Bandy (Sue) of Lakehills, TX, Dee Heitz (Larry) of Longview, WA and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. David C Bandy and Nova Bandy; Brother David C Bandy III, and Sister, Avis Bandy Kelsey.
There will be a Visitation and Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Collierville Funeral Home for family and friends of hers and her families. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with the Celebration Service and Music starting at 2:30 p.m. There will be a private family burial afterwards.
