Cathy A. Bailey, 84, of Bartlett, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Married to Donald E. Bailey on December 24, 1957 until his passing in 2011. Cathy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Marisa Bailey and Colin and Jamie Bailey; her nieces, Janice (Randy) Hammer and Janie (Tim) Warner; her sister-in-law Lynn Grace; and her grandchildren, Kane, Gypsee, Noah, and Ella. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Fate and Eunice Garrett and brother Lanny and sister Jean. Cathy and Don lived in every corner of the US, traveled and lived in Europe and settled in Bartlett in 1984. When she wasn’t packing for their next move or raising children, she worked at the Navy Exchange and as a bank teller. Cathy was an exceptional wife and mother. While only having two biological children, she was a second mother to countless other children, her beloved nieces, and many foreign exchange students. Cathy was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, 9-10am at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Rd. Funeral services will follow at 10am with internment to follow in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefer memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
