Charles lived a life built on faith, family, and quiet strength. He served the Lord for 39 years and was known for his faithfulness, gentle spirit, and loyalty. He never met a problem God couldn’t fix. He loved his family deeply, and Christmas was his favorite time of the year. Charles loved God, his family, and watching the children as they grow. He enjoyed telling stories that brought a smile to anyone who listened.
His heart’s desire was to do the work of God, and he loved to teach. He spent hours upon hours throughout his 39 years of ministry studying the Word and writing messages — many filed away, some shared, and some that have never been spoken.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa and husband, Joe Kight, Debra Land; his grandchildren, Devin Willing, Samuel Kight, Justin Land and Sarah Kornegay, and her husband, John Kornegay; his great-grandchildren, Finn, Micah, LilyAna, Isaiah, Liza, and Ezrah; and his brother, Sonny Land, and his wife, Shirley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Land; daughter, Tina, his parents, Jessie and Jacqueline Land; and his brother, Edward Land.
A celebration of Charles’s life will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Collierville First Pentecostal Church at 4:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. A private burial will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, humility, and devotion that continues in the lives of everyone who knew him. The family is deeply grateful for the prayers, love, and support shown during this time.
