Christopher Curtis Cornell

Christopher Curtis Cornell, 75, of Collierville TN passed away on February 15, 2025 at the MS State Veterans Home in Oxford MS. Chris grew up in Soso MS and volunteered to serve in the US Army in Vietnam at the age of 20 years. He then completed his college education at the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Finance. He pursued careers in business and later in IT. After retirement, he became a self-taught artist. He enjoyed oil painting. He loved his (and ALL) dogs and smoking good cigars.

Chris is lovingly remembered by his wife, Carole Dennis-Cornell. He is also survived by two daughters and two grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his brothers Ovee Cornell (Ginny), James Cornell, and John Cornell (Bonnie). He was preceded in death by his parents Edith and Charles Cornell of Soso, MS, and his brother Benjamin Chatham.

A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the West TN Veterans Cemetery located at 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis TN. Following military honors, a memorial gathering will take place at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Rd, in Collierville from 11:45 to 2:00.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’ name to Page Robbins Adult Day Center in Collierville or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
