

David Larry Bowen, 81, of Collierville Tennessee left us to be his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 22, 2025.Larry, as most called him, was born in New Albany Mississippi on August 4th, 1943. The son of Hattie Sue (Nunnally) Bowen and Druery Jones (DJ) Bowen.
Larry was a graduate of Tupelo High School, Itawamba Community College, and received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Mississippi. Upon graduation, Larry was employed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for over thirty years.
On January 28th 1967, Larry married Laura Dale Sneed of Tupelo. The two were happily married for over thirty-two years until Laura passed away on December 30th, 1999. Larry and Laura had three sons and five grandchildren. David Byron (Coda) of Eugene Oregon, Brett Stuart (Ayla, Olivia) wife Allison of Little Elm, Texas and Scott Vincent (Preston, Piper) and wife Kristie of Lakeland Tennessee.
Larry later married Romona Kay Wilson of Collierville Tennessee on December 21, 2003. Larry, by marriage gained two stepchildren and three grandchildren. John R Turner (Lauren Kane) of Collierville Tennessee and Laura Beth (Kristin Landon and husband Spencer Landon of Little Rock Arkansas, Kayleigh) and husband Brad Smith of Collierville Tennessee. Larry was delighted to have a daughter after years of raising boys.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Mona, and his brother Jack Bowen (Jeff, Brad) of Muscle Shoals Alabama.
Larry enjoyed following his beloved Ole Miss Rebels football and Saturdays in The Grove during the fall months and lazy days by the pool in the summer months. He had a deep soulful voice and loved to sing. Larry had an easy going nature and always made time for an hours long game of tossing around the football with his sons. Larry was a great provider for his family and always made personal sacrifices to make sure his loved ones were well taken care of. Larry enjoyed vacationing with his entire family on the Gulf Coast, or wherever his grandchildren preferred.
Services will be held at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am with funeral services beginning shortly after at 11. Graveside service will be held the same day at 2 pm at Lee Memorial Park, 5257 Raymond Avenue in Verona Mississippi.
Hotty Toddy Larry, you will be greatly missed.
