Doris was a devout Christian and enjoyed learning and teaching the Word. She sang and played piano in church well into her later years and never ceased praising the Lord even at home.
Doris was married to Henry David Blalock for 45 years until his passing in 1998. She then married Richard Bowers with whom she shared her life for 22 years until the Lord took her into His own arms.
She worked for many years helping the elderly in a Florida nursing home and later worked and taught in The Living Cornerstone Church in Florida before moving to Tennessee with Richard and becoming a member of Bridgeway Baptist Church.
Doris is survived by her husband Richard; son Henry David Blalock and wife Maria of Moscow, TN; daughter Bonnie June Blalock of Oak Hill, FL; stepsons Brad Paul of Moscow, TN and Rick and Bonnie Bowers of Wisconsin; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will commence at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Bridgeway Baptist Church, 1450 Boswell Road, Mt. Pleasant, MS. Funeral services will be begin at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bridgeway Baptist Church.
