Dorothy Hinton Kosloski (“Dotty”) a native of Collierville, Tenn., died on May 4, 2013. Born on February 27, 1918, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Peter Paul Kosloski, her parents Dora Cavitt and Samuel H. Hinton and her sister Sara Hinton Prater. She graduated from the University of Tennessee where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Dotty was a lifelong active member of the Collierville United Methodist Church and past president of the Contemporary Club and the VFW Auxiliary. She loved entertaining and playing bridge with her friends. Dotty always supported her children’s endeavors. She is survived by her children Sally Carruthers (Bobby), Catharine “Kit” Jones (Bob), Mary Garret Nare (Edward) and Peter Paul Kosloski, Jr. She leaves six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Memphis Jewish Home who provided such excellent care in her last days. Visitation will be at Collierville United Methodist Church Sanctuary on The Square on Tuesday, May 7 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service. Burial will be at the Magnolia Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the Collierville United Methodist Church for The Sanctuary on The Square Fund, Page-Robbins Adult Day Care, Memphis Jewish Home or Memphis Chapter of the March of Dimes.
