She was born on December 2, 1934 in Memphis, TN to the late Henry and Amanda Zuber. Dorothy spent most of her life in Tennessee and moved to Maryland in her later years to be with family.
In her soul, Dorothy was a gardener. At home, she lovingly raised a son. At work, she nurtured and healed plants. And outside of home and work, she tended to her community by participating in the Meadowlark Community Club, contributing to church missions in Memphis and in Mexico, and selflessly serving for years as the volunteer librarian at Rossville Academy Elemetary School. Dorothy's faith was at the center of her life; she was a lifelong Christian and proud member of Collierville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son Arthur Shaw, daughter-in-law Yildiz Nuredinoski, and beloved granddaughter Leyla Shaw. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother William Zuber.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 12:00 PM, at Collierville Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods.
